Thornton Peak

A selection of images taken by local residents portrays some of the the allure of living in the Daintree region - the dense rainforest, the dramatic landscapes, the beautiful beaches - and a sense of being in one of the oldest undisturbed regions on earth. The aptly named Noah Creek, roughly halfway between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation, harbours 'living fossils' - plant types that date back millenia. The area is home to unique wildlife, some endemic to the region.
